The Chippewa Hotel Waterfront is a non-smoking hotel.
Smoking on property is NOT permitted. If caught smoking inside your room, it WILL result in a $100.00 cleaning fee. This determination will be made by hotel management.

Dock Porters are available upon arrival at the ferry docks and can be arranged at the front desk when it is time to depart the island. (Gratuities are appreciated)In the event sleeping accommodations are not available upon arrival or plans schedule departure from the island when accommodations are not available, luggage can be stored with the hotel front desk.
Occupancy and Rates
Room rates are based upon single and double occupancy. Additional adults are $20.00 per person. All room rates are required to be charges a 6% State Tax, an 8% Hotel Levy and a 2% Michigan Lodging Assessment Fee.
Minimum Stay Requirements
During particular parts of the season minimum stay requirements may be in place. This includes weekends and dates containing special events. Please see the rate calendar for specific dates.
The hotel requires a deposit for all room reservations. Depending on the dates of the reservation, a one-night or full-length-of-stay deposit will be necessary.
When choosing to use a debit card as a deposit or form of payment when checking into the hotel it is important to understand how debit cards and their transactions are handled by banks. When checking in the front desk computer system tells the debit card company to put a hold on the funds necessary to cover the entire length of stays room and tax. An additional $50.00 per day is also put on hold for incidentals. These funds are not withdrawn from the account, but are made unavailable until the Hotel indicates the funds are no longer needed. At this time it may take up to fifteen days for the bank to make these funds available again.
For this reason, it is recommended that a credit card be used at check-in and then check-out with the Debit Card.
Cash, traveler checks, Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express are accepted.
A credit card deposit will be required upon check-in.
In the unlikely event a reservation needs to be cancelled the following policy will apply. Cancellations made prior to fourteen days of scheduled arrival will have the deposit refunded minus a $25.00 processing fee. Cancellations made fourteen days or less prior to scheduled arrival will forfeit the entire deposited amount.
