Our room at the Chippewa hotel was the right corner room of the top floor. We had an amazing time at the Chippewa, overlooking downtown. We were close to everything - the waterfront, park, shops, restaurants - you name it. Staying on the island is definitely worth the extra money, especially at the Chippewa. Clean rooms, great service, quiet neighbors, good prices.

Just wanted you to know that The Chippewa was the FIRST place we ever stayed on M.I. in July of 1969. I was pregnant for our Daughter, Penny. We returned as a family almost EVERY year after that. In more recent years we stayed on our boat in the marina. Our first room at The Chippewa was soooo tiny, the commode was in a closet! We loved it though and are looking sooooo forward to returning July 1, 2009. We live in Florida full time now so it will be good to be up there away from the heat and humidity. P.S. Our daughter got married on the Island !!

To Michael (the night manager: I've been meaning to write these past few months, but have not sat down to do it. I want to thank you again for what you did for us when Scottie and I stayed at the Chippewa the first week of June. We had a really good time and made such precious memories as we celebrated our 10th anniversary. So, thanks again for going out of your way to provide such a wonderful experience for us.

Just wanted to express a big THANK YOU for the webcam on top of your hotel. I check it daily to see what is happening on the Island. Today (12-03-09) it is snowing! Thank you for allowing me to experience seasons on the Island that I wouldn't otherwise get to see. It is a wonderful customer service to provide.

We just got back from your Hotel. We have gone the last 10 years. We had the best time this year. The Chippewa just seems like home to us. We always go with my sister and her husband.Julie the Manager made this trip! She really went out of her way to make us comfortable. This is the Best Hotel on the Island!! Thanks again for everything you do to make our stay Wonderful!! I can hardly wait until next yr!!!

This is my new favorite hotel on the island. The staff is so friendly and always willing to help. The room was so inviting and so comfortable. We loved the Pink Pony Patio for it's beautiful views and great food. The hot tub is fabulous. We enjoyed the evening entertainment at the Pink Pony Bar. Thank you for a wonderful time. We will be back soon!

We stayed at the Chippewa for eight consecutive years. The only reason we didn't make it back last season was because we bought a place on the island; but we continue to visit both the restaurant and Pink Pony on a regular basis with friends and family. I don't think you could find a better staff anywhere on the island.

My husband and I and another couple stayed in the Chippewa for two nights and it was great. We loved the food and the rooms were very good but our bathroom was too small. Our friends had a slightly smaller room but a larger bathroom. Everything beautifully decorated. The hot tub was super..didn't want to leave that water !!! Location is right downtown so you can walk, shop and eat. I would recommend the hotel to anyone..go when schools are in session..no kids around...adult syle. And no cars!!!!Would go again in a heart beat.

This year is our 30th year of coming to the "Chip". My husband (my boyfriend back then),took me to the island on our first vacation together 30 years ago!! Thanks for the memories! Go Chip!!!

We are here celebrating my 30th birthday. The weather was perfect (for this time of year) Can't wait to bring our kids back someday. This is my 3rd time here and I'd come back again and again.

We are here to celebrate our first anniversary. We were married in Marquette Park last year with only our children and immediate family there to celebrate our day. It was beautiful. We stayed at the Chippewa last year as it's location and staff make it the most relaxing place we have ever been. We plan to return every year to celebrate our love.

My husband and I just celebrated our 20th Anniversary at the Chippewa Hotel. We both love Mackinac Island and have stayed at a different hotel in the past. Our experience at the Chippewa was absolutely wonderful. Our room was lovely and overlooked the street. It was quiet and the air-condo was very nice especially since it was hot out. The staff at the front desk was very pleasant as was our server at the Pink Pony. We had lunch on the patio and a terrific view of the water. The food was delicious as well. When we come back to Mackinac again, the Chippewa will be the only place we will stay! Thank you helping to make our anniversary more special!

The Chippewa Hotel made our time on Mackinac Island complete. You couldn't find a friendlier place to stay. The staff made us feel welcome and treated us like friends, although we had just met. We hope to return to this place of forgotten time again soon. And when we do, the Chippewa Hotel will be our home-away-from-home!

My wife and I decided to stay on the island this year and we chose the Chippewa. We didn’t know what to expect as we were just going off of the pictures on the web site. When we arrived we were extremely happy with the service and the room. The Chippewa takes pride in keeping their hotel clean! We stayed for 4 nights and will be staying there for years to come.

We have stayed many times at the Chip due to my band, The Forbes Brothers, performing at the Mackinac Music Festival. We are always a hassle. Thanks to all of you, and particularly Nadine, for helping us out with complex arrangements and making our stay a pleasure.

We were up on the island for one day during our honeymoon, and i have to give kudos to your pink pony patio staff! we were traveling with our dog and they were most helpful getting us a wonderful meal for a take out for us to enjoy at the marina just down the way. The chicken blt melt hit the spot and so delicious, thank you again for such a professional and helpful staff!

My wife and I have been coming up to Mackinac Island every year for over 30 years. The Chip and The Pony are always the preferred lodging and dining location. The Chip's continued improvements have shown their committment to the island and its customer base.

We just returned from our annual trip to The Chippewa. By far the BEST place to stay on the island. We love the rooms, and the view is "one of a kind" Kim, the bartender outside at the Pink Pony is the best too!! We ate in the dining room one of the nights. Absolutely delicious especially the morel mushroom beef tips with orzo. Great service too. Can't wait to come back next year. Worth every dime to stay at such a unique hotel right here in Michigan.

As always, it is a great time to stay on the island with all the hosts at the Chippewa. No other hotel has the view, music on the deck and so much more than the Chippewa. 15 years so far and don't plan to quit anytime soon. See you sooner than later. Best regards, Curt Pomerville

Loved the hotel. We slept comfortably and enjoyed our turn down snacks. Appreciated our room it was very accessible for my handicapped mother.

My husband and I just celebrated our 45th anniversary with you and couldn't have been more pleased. You have a great staff (especially the front desk), our room was lovely, the restaurant was very good and overall it was a wonderful stay. I must especailly thank Brie (who answers the phone and ...?) I left my very favorite visor in our room in our haste to catch the ferry. On calling when we returned home 3 days later, Brie searched the "Lost & Found", found the visor and sent it back to me. It took only 5 days for it to arrive. I'm still amazed that she - and your hotel -would go to the trouble to return it. It seems stupid to be attached so strongly to something like that, but I am, and she could tell and did her best to reunite us. A thousand thanks for everything and we will HIGHLY recommend the Chippewa Hotel.

This was our first trip to Mackinaw island. We had no idea where to stay but we liked the idea of being on the water so we chose the Chippewa. IT was the perfect pick. We walked the island and checked out the other spots and none really compared to the Chippewa. Location, room size, decks on the water all verified we made the right choice. This was our 10th visit to the island, our 4th time staying on the island, and our first time staying at The Chippewa Waterfront Hotel. We have never been disappointed staying on the island and this visit was no exception. We found plenty of reasons to fully appreciate our time spent at the Chippewa from the moment we arrived to the easy, friendly no fuss-no muss check out process. Staff, including front desk, bartenders, waiters, and housekeepers, were all pleasant and helpful. Also, compliments to the chef... we enjoyed 3 meals at the Chippewa/Pink Pony & were very pleased with the selection, and bottom line - it was just really good! Fish tacos (A+), Whitefish dip (amazing), and breakfast was perfect. Well done. With so many choices in one property - bars & dining inside and out - it made our stay so easy and relaxing. The corner room/suite view was unbeatable, however, the rooms, although spacious & nicely furnished were a little worn - spotty wall paper, chipped paint, fan cover fell off, and overall just starting to show its age or maybe just a long season, but we could easily overlook these details because the room & patio were very clean, bed was super comfy, we had plenty of room, and once again, the view was spectacular. Also, it's the perfect location in terms of truly having it "all" close by & convenient - Doud's Grocery across the street, Fort, museum, shops, and Arnold's Ferry is right next door. We are considering booking again for next season. Thanks for attributing to yet another memorable & amazing time on the island.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the nice time I had. Archie is one of the nicest guys on the island and he always has a smile and my bags in the room so quickly. He is the island's hardest worker. How many bags can he put on that bike? It was another great trip to the Chippewa!

We have been to Mackinac Island 3 times this year,and stayed on the Island for 1st time in Oct. The weather was awful due to the rain, but our hotel made up for it. Friendly desk service, clean room, great views. We will definitely stay here again!

Our top floor corner suite was beautiful with wonderful views of the harbor and fort. The staff was friendly and helpful. This was a beautiful time to visit the Island. We look forward to visiting again in the fall.

The Chippewa was the first place we stayed on the island a couple years ago and we haven't tried any others. We like the convienent location downtown. Management and staff are all very friendly, which makes a big difference when you enter a hotel. The rooms are clean and neat and feel comfortable. We like the street side because it is fun to watch all the activity from "above". In the fall months the island is so tranquil and beautiful. We will return to the Chippewa next fall.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chippewa Hotel. We had a suite, 3rd floor and last room on the left overlooking the harbor. Not that we needed much, but the staff were also great. To tip it all off we got cookies and milk right before going to bed. Perfect!

My parents, boyfriend, and I stayed at the Chippewa to celebrate my birthday and my parent's anniversary. It was a wonderful way to celebrate and the hotel was gorgeous, clean, and the staff was more than friendly. We can't wait to come back again!

The Chippewa is our favorite place to stay while on Mackinac Island. Didn't get there last year as you were booked during the week we had off, so we made sure to book early this year. Had a wonderful time again. The hotel is really beautiful, and kept so nice. The Pink Pony Lounge is fun, and what a treat to see Myk Rise entertaining!!! We've seen him there several times, and truly enjoy his singing and playing. Makes our stay! Looking forward to next time.

Lovely place! The rooms are SO accommodating and spacious. Gorgeous view and to top it off milk and cookies and chocolates brought to your door every night! We have never been in a hotel that does that! :) We will be back!

We LOVED our stay at the Chippewa. Of course, everyone talks about staying at the Grand but we wanted something ON the water and could accommodate 5 people comfortably. We LOVED the room, the servic, the view and the Pink Pony. Anytime we visit again, we will always stay with you. I'm also going to let the folks at Trip Advisor know! Thank you for everything!

We were at your hotel Monday and had lunch at the harbor view restaurant...we felt we had wondered into a peaceful delicious place out of the hustle of the shops!

We spent two nights at the Chippewa Hotel for my son's wedding. Everything was wonderful, the room, dining room, Pink Pony Bar. The food was exceptional for the wedding reception, lunches, breakfasts,etc. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again at the Chippewa Hotel.

Best Hotel on the Island! We are committed each year for a visit. Very convenient to Ferry and town, great accommodations and service, and the Pink Pony is always the place to be.

What a wonderful 2 queen room overlooking Main St. The staff, servers, & bartenders were a pleasure to deal with; and some of the best food on the island. We'll be back.

We are spending this fall weekend @ the Chippewa and so happy that we selected this hotel. Our suite is on the 3rd floor, corner room with both front street view and a wonderful balcony overlooking the lake. We will make this trip again next year and will stay once again at the Chippewa. Love the Chippewa!! We come up with a group of people from Milwaukee. This is our 2nd time here and it won't be our last. Love the yellow sunny rooms and the "clip clop" of the horses at night while your sleeping. I like the location of the shops, the outdoor patio and of course the hot tub. The food and entertainment are great, rooms are so clean, beds are comfy. What more can you ask for? We plan on coming back every year Would love it if you would offer a Fall package. We can't wait to come back I didn't want to leave!!

We've been coming to the island since 1997. All but 2 of those years, we've stayed at Chippewa. No other place compares with the spacious suites, the wonderful views, great atmosphere, great food and drink, the nice patio with a place for a quick drink or lunch. However, when enjoying the patio it is never a quick visit. The nice breezes, the music and the nice hot tub is all an experience within itself. It's convienient to everything. And yes, we keep our windows open to hear the clippety clop of the horses and the sound of the cannon, taps and revely (sp). As I said, no other place compares. We'll be visiting again in September. We look forward to each visit the minute we leave the island. We'll be going back again and again!

I have stayed on Mackinac Island many times but this was our first time at the Lilac Tree. We had a beautiful suite looking onto Main Street with a nice balcony Everyone was very helpful, our room was clean and very pretty. Staff was wonderful!Breakfast at the Chippewa was very good! Thank you

This was our second year staying at The Chippewa for our anniversary trip. The Chippewa has the best staff of any of the hotels we have stayed at on the island. The manager Julie, went above & beyond when we stayed in 2011 & because of her great service, we returned again to The Chippewa this year. We like that the staff has lots of friendly faces that we recognize from last year. The suites are very nice & affordable, making it perfect for bringing our young daughter with us on our trips. We love The Chippewa & will continue to stay there. Thank you! See you soon!

We visited Mackinac Island for the first time this year and ate at the Pink Pony under the yellow umbrellas. It was lovely. I can't wait to go back. Michigan is incredible beautiful. I love your webcam. I visit the Island frequently using the webcam. I hope you keep it always.

From the moment we arrived the staff treated us like old friends. Our room was recently renovated and was very comfortable. Great views of the harbor and the city. You cannot find a better location. Can't wait for our next visit.

What a great hotel!!! We have been staying at the Chippewa Hotel for over 25 years! It just keeps getting better. We love it. Even though we bought a cottage 30 minutes away we still have to come and spend the night once every summer. Noone in the family would ever want to miss this magical island and this fabulous hotel. The suites are very spacious, well decorated and very clean. There is no better place to sit and have lunch or a cocktail on the water than on the porch behind The Chip. It is the best location on the island and there is no better place to stay than The Chippewa Hotel.

We just got back from staying at the Chippawa for 3 days and I can't say enough about the wonderful time we had. The staff was outstanding in that they couldn't do enough in making our stay every thing we wanted it to be. The room was beautiful. We were on the 3rd floor street side and we loved it. This was our 7th stay and will continue to only book at the Chippawa. Thank you for great customer service.

We had a wonderful time at the chippewa, It was our 30th annv.and we couldnt have picked abetter place. The staff was great,rooms were clean cookies and milk were a great treat in the evening . At the front desk they were ready to asnwer guestions and always very nice even when they were busy. They also have a great bar and 2 places to dine. Great time we will be back next year.
